COVID-19 Response

We have in-person instruction for all grades with virtual options available for families who desire to continue at home learning due to COVID-19.

It is our belief that Stevens Point Christian Academy best fulfills its mission and vision through face to face instruction. Teachers and students flourish with in-person classroom teaching and learning.

The safety of children and our staff is top priority. Plans will reflect guidance from the CDC, DPI, State, and Portage County Health Departments. Plans being developed will allow for a fluid response keeping in mind staff, student and parent capacity, coupled with financial resources of our school.

We ask families to keep students home when not feeling well.

As we develop the specifics of the plan, here is a breakdown of what you will likely see as the year begins:

On Site, in-person Learning:

  • Continued careful consideration for safety and cleanliness of the school.

  • Mental health considerations - as needs arise, or you believe your student is struggling with transitions, etc., regarding COVID, we have pastoral staff available to meet with children and families as we navigate this season of change.

  • Limiting people that can enter the building (visitors, parents/guardians, salespeople, etc.).

  • Parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, or other school meeting needs may be conducted virtually.

  • Continually altering instructional strategies conductive to both in-person and virtual settings.

  • No contact water bottle filling station.

  • Additional hand sanitizer stations located throughout the building.

  • Physical spacing considerations, lunch/recess rotations and cohort groupings. Modifications to locker use times.

  • Personal Protection Equipment follows Governor Tony Ever’s executive order, in concordance with the Portage County Department of Health Department.

    Online, virtual Learning if/when necessary:

  • Technology device per student as well as technical support.

  • Ensure the virtual learning aligns closely with classroom environment.

  • Schedules for virtual learning is similar to in-class instruction with varying breaks.

  • Families have access to our teacher’s instruction on a daily basis at the specific class time, in order to provide consistent live-online learning.
